Where do the bonds of Sisterhood come from? Just by pledging a sorority doesn't necessarily make you a Sister in anything other than title and just because you may be born into a family doesn't mean that just because you may love someone you might not like them always.
Nine Sigmas were treated to a lovely brunch at Nancy's home where we were well fed, treated to lovely souveniers. We left with our bodies full of nourishment and our hearts filled with love, fun and fellowship. We read aloud and in unison to that lovely Christmas classic, T'was The Night Before Christmas, then followed with fun season-themed games in which we flexed our Christmas song knowledge and exhibited our beautiful singing voices.
I could have sat at that table for hours just chatting and sharing stories about everything and nothing but life has a way of seeping in the cracks of consciousness and we all departed to our next engagements. I certainly left with my heart brimming as full as my eyes for the kindess and Sisterhood these women showed. In lieu of our annual Gift Lift project which this year will not be rolled out, our Alumnae group supported this grateful sister in her passion for animals and sponsored the Tri Sigma Antler Drive for the Allen County SPCA. These wonderful women embarked on a "deer hunt" through the wilds of the local retail establishments for antlers which will provide enrichment to shelter dogs this holiday season.
What makes a Sister? There are so many ingredients to add to the bowl and my original paragraph may have been to gushingly embarassing for these women. Each are extraordinary in their own right and when assembled as a group are all Super Women.
